To facilitate this bike collection process, we have set up a "pledge" form on the Supporting Japan website. You can let us know what kind of bike(s) you're donating, where you're located and we will contact people once we have the collection system organized.

Here is the link to the form page: http://www.supportingjapan.com/bikes-for-tohoku

Will do, Tony. I've seen it a few times on your Facebook, but now that I've actually been there, I really see the appeal.

Glad you liked the store Mark. I was out racing last night with the owner and a few of the guys that work there. Great people. The place is definitely a hang out place for the local bike crowd. Every Sunday we turn the garage into a little eat in place. Curry, BBQ hot dogs and a girl brings her Cafe bike and makes great coffee. You should stop by one day.

Thanks, J.D. I'll look into that next time I'm at the Giant store. I've been finding it increasingly difficult to get my left shoe in and out of the pedal, so an adjustment is definitely needed.

If you have to take you shoe off to get it unclipped then you probably have your pedals set too tight. I don't even remember how you adjust it but I set mine to the loosest setting when I first got them. I have never unintentionally clipped out while riding but my shoes have always clipped out easily mid-fall so I don't worry about knee or ankle sprains from having my feet stuck to the pedals.

Good luck on your ride!

Hi Peter. I returned via Shinkansen for the Kyoto to Nagoya leg of the trip, so I don't have a route. If you email me at crankee@crankee.me I might be able to get you the route we took from Nagoya to Kyoto.

Guys,

I am also, planning to ride from Nara to Kyoto to Nagoya. Would it be possible to post your route as well as any comments on on road conditions, etc. Best wishes.
